MAKE-A-WISH TRIP in just a few hours!
At 4:15 am Monday morning the 2nd of May, a Limousine will arrive to take Bella and our family to the airport for Bella's Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World. To say the least, the Princess is beyond excited as are the rest of us. I know I have been terrible at posting blogs, but I promise to post pics of this trip! Thank you for checking up on us.
Blessings, Susie

Last December, after 9 years, I placed my real estate license in escrow. Escrow means I am still a licensed Realtor, I have maintained all my educational credits to keep my license, but I no longer have my license with a brokerage company and therefore I am not assisting buyers and sellers with homes. This was a decision that took me a year and one that did not come without much emotion. However, I knew it was God's choice and I realized that we were embarking on a different season of life.
As many of you know, we adopted our daughter from Guatemala 3 years ago. At the age of 13 1/2 months, only 5 months after we got her home, she was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. This changed the course of our lives drastically, and it took me right out of my career as I would be caring for our daughter through the next 2 1/2 years of her chemo treatment. This past December that journey ended for us and she is completely and totally HEALED! She is a walking, breathing testimony to the power of God's Word!
So now its January, in Michigan. :) I was seeking God's plan for the next stage of my life, but I was NOT looking for a career. I was seeking the next mission for Dave and I and our family, I was prayerful and asking several times a day, "Lord, close doors that need to be closed and open doors that need to be open. Give us the wisdom and discernment to recognize those doors whether they are cracked a little or wide open and the joy to walk through the open doors and peace to walk away from the closed one's". I can tell you that it was not always easy to walk away from the closed doors....I tried several times to reopen the real estate door as well as some other doors in our life and they were consistently shut tightly. Even when I got it open a crack, it shut and sometimes my fingers got stuck....ouch!
A few weeks ago, I contacted a friend of mine regarding a product she had, I was curious if she had a "skin care" line. After much finagling of our schedules I decided to attend one of her meetings to "try" the product. I was not excited about going to "the meeting", I just wanted to try the product. I was to show up 45 minutes early so that I could be wrapped before the meeting. I kid you not, I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes coming up with excuses why I could not make it. I even called a couple friends and chatted with them in the car. I finally decided to go in, after all, a friend was waiting for me and I do not like to turn back on a commitment. So in I went, my blinders on and a closed mind to their "meeting".
I received my "wrap" that night, it felt great, but like most of you, I was VERY skeptical. I have always been health conscience. I am an avid runner and aerobics instructor of 17 years, Dave and I are training for the 25k this May, working out and eating healthy is a part of our life. Dr. Don Verhulst of Grand Rapids was the guest speaker that night...I was open to listening to him, but I still had on my blinders. It wasn't until I heard him say "you don't need to be afraid of cancer" that my ears perked up. He explained what cancer is and I knew what he was speaking was true as that is exactly how the Doctors at Devos explained it to us. Yet he had additional knowledge that was not explained to us as to how our bodies work to fight and kill diseases. I was amazed at how intricate our internal bodies are designed. He had caught my attention, by the end of the meeting, I had absolutely fell in love with a company that was created to assist a heavenly creation (people) in their purpose and mission in this life.
